Danae is a research master student of Media, Art & Performance Studies at Utrecht University. She holds a BA in Communication, Media, and Culture from Panteion University (Athens, GR) and a BFA in Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance from Kontaxaki Professional Ballet School (Athens, GR). Her BA thesis is titled: “Theatre of light: The shift from classical ballet to early modern dance.” In the process of finishing her RMA, her current research focuses on early modern dance, early cinema, gestures, and motion documentation systems. A recent example of her work can be found in the 2nd Issue of the Junctions Journal. Danae had her research internship regarding the agency of technology in dance performances with prof. dr. Maaike Bleeker. She previously worked with FIBER Festival (Amsterdam, NL) as a coordinator of the 8th Choreographic Coding Lab & the Moving Matters Panel. She also worked with NODE17 – Forum for Digital Arts (Frankfurt, DE) taking on the artist care. Currently, she acts as community manager for Junctions and works for Transmission in Motion.
